Delicious and simple menu! Hostess/cook was really great at explaining our choices of beef or potato dumplings with toppings of curry powder, butter, sriracha rice vinegar, and cilantro. We chose beef with “The Works” which came with all toppings and a side of sour cream. Great quick lunch after our cruise excursion before we walked downtown.

Stopped hear for a quick bite while in Sitka on a cruise. Food was DELICIOUS, service was great and we even got to choose the music playing. Such an awesome little hole in the wall that must be tried while in Sitka! I never knew I need Russian Dumplings in my life, and I’m not sure how I will now live without them. Can’t go wrong with beef or potato, but definitely get them with everything on it. SO GOOD.

Delicious dumplings, made to order. Ordered both the potato and beef. Did not disappoint. The rye bread was fantastic! Need a snack while shopping then this is the place!

Just stopped in for a quick bite after walking all around Sitka and so very glad we did. Ordered the beef and the potato dumplings with no expectation of taste as we have never even heard of these types of dumplings much less tasted any. So very glad we stopped in. The food was quite simply delicious! I liked them both and asked for the siracha sauce to go over both. Dipped the dumplings in the sour cream and wow, the flavor was amazing. I can imagine this being a staple dish in most Russian homes. Washed it down with a mango flavored canned drink from their cooler and continued on walking the streets of Sitka enjoying the scenery.

We frequent this restaurant very often. The service is quick, it's cheap, and very delicious. Sometimes the music can be overly loud and distasteful, but it usually depends on who's working and it doesn't happen often. On those days we just take it to go. Otherwise, lovely little place. Never had a single other complaint. Very simple, very fast, affordable, great place to eat.

A great lunch here. Service was friendly parking on side street was easy. This is a small simple place with two items on the menus. You order at the counter and it takes less than ten minutes to cook. We got an order of each. (Potato & meat). You get dozen small dumplings. We had all the toppings and the flavor was great. When you add the cost which is modest this come across as a great lunch.

Stop by this little place that packs an amazing flavor punch. Order potato or beef. You can’t go wrong. I personally like the beef. There are more oils and that meat flavor with the vinegar and rye bread is a must try. Be sure to get everything in them. I started adding sour cream to it and it adds even more flavor goodness. The price is right and the service is usually great. There are sometimes where I had to wait 10 or so minutes for them to refresh the pots, but it turns out that fresh Pel is the best Pel. Enjoy it with a beverage from the fridge and sit in or take them to go. If you haven’t been in yet; go. Enjoy!

Although they were out of beef dumplings, the potato dumplings were absolutely delicious! The filling was hearty, and the flavors were perfectly balanced, proving that simple ingredients can create a memorable meal. What made the experience even more impressive was the young man running the show. It was his first time managing both taking and making orders alone, and with three cruise ships in port, the pressure was high. Despite the crowd, he handled everything with poise and efficiency. Watching him rise to the challenge was almost as satisfying as the food itself!

During my recent trip to Sitka, Alaska, I had the pleasure of dining at Pel Meni, a cozy spot known for its Russian dumplings. I opted for the beef dumplings, and I must say, they were absolutely delicious.
The dumplings were perfectly cooked, with a tender and flavorful beef filling that was both savory and satisfying. They were served hot, with a generous dollop of sour cream and a sprinkle of fresh dill that elevated the dish to a whole new level of deliciousness. The dumplings had a delightful texture, with a slight chewiness to the dough that complemented the rich, juicy filling inside.
The atmosphere of Pel Meni is casual and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for a laid-back meal. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or enjoying a leisurely dinner, the friendly staff and warm ambiance make you feel right at home.
If you're in Sitka and looking for a unique and tasty experience, I highly recommend stopping by Pel Meni. Their beef dumplings are a must-try, offering a delightful taste of Russian cuisine that will leave you craving more.

Absolutely amazing pel'meni! if you travel all the way to Sitka and don't eat here you've made a mistake. Both the beef and potato pel'meni are good, personally my favorite is beef. Make sure to get all the toppings and add one of the ramekins of sour cream that are in the bottom of the fridge where the drinks are.
I ate here three times while our cruise ship was docked and I would have been back for dinner if I didn't have to be on the ship when it left!
